This blog began as an ode to my greatest love…
But food and I had some major issues. It just wasn’t working between us anymore.
In July 2014, I got on the scale and saw a number that changed my life. Or rather, it made me decide to change my life. Since then, this blog has been the story of what happened after that day.
My first order of business was committing to Weight Watchers. This ain’t my first rodeo. I’ve spent most of my life trying to lose weight. So what was different this time around? I focused on the mental/emotional aspects of weight loss just as much, if not more, as the physical part. Changing my mindset was key. I don’t aim for perfection every day. Instead, I strive to make the right choices most of the time. I know if I do that, the results will follow. And so far, it’s worked…
I’ve lost 20 pounds as of November 2014. I’ve lost 28 pounds as of January 2015. I’ve lost 32 pounds as of April 2015 and I’ve maintained this weight loss as of January 2016.
This blog is where I share the weight loss insights I have learned during along the way, as well as a mix of original and adapted recipes (it’s nearly impossible for me to follow a recipe — I always like to tweak things a bit). Whether you are just starting out on your weight loss journey, trying to lose that last stubborn 10 pounds, or just want to make some healthier adjustments to your lifestyle, I hope that my story resonates with you. But most of all, I hope it motivates you.
Although I’m no longer following the plan, Weight Watchers is how I took off the majority of my weight. Want to learn more about Weight Watchers and my journey? Check out my WW FAQs and read my Weekly Weigh In posts.
The Girl Behind the Blog
My name is Kerry (with a” y” not an “i”, please!) and I’m a marketer/writer living in Tampa. I like to think I’m on the right side of 30. I’m always thinking about my next meal. I’m also a total smartass (hence the “snark”).
